What is ISFiT?
From 11 to 21 February 2027, ISFiT will transform Trondheim into a global meeting place for students, ideas, and cultural exchange.

Founded in 1990, ISFiT is the world's largest international student festival. Every two years, students from around the world gather to explore pressing global issues through dialogue, workshops, debates, art, and music. The festival creates opportunities for meaningful connections, new perspectives, and conversations across cultures.

The theme for ISFiT 2027 is Changing Winds. It is an invitation to reflect on a world shaped by political change, climate challenges, and shifting global realities, and on the role young people play in navigating and shaping the future.

Frequently asked questions for participants

• What expenses are covered by ISFiT?
  ‍You will get both free food and accommodation during the festival. Travel expenses (airfare etc.) are generally not covered by ISFiT. However, one can apply for airfare funding in the application form. We will do our best to allocate the funding fairly and help as many as possible.
• I have not received a confirmation email after sending in my application, can you confirm that it is received?
  Participant Web does not send out automatic confirmation emails, but please rest assured that your application has likely been received. We've checked for several applicants with similar concerns, and all have been found in our database.
• Is it possible that some applicants receive special consideration during the application process?
  A selected group of our official ambassadors will be invited to attend ISFiT-27. Aside from the selected ambassadors, all applicants are reviewed equally and fairly. While multiple organizational factors are considered when building the final participant list, no individual applicants receive special or biased consideration
• When can I expect to receive feedback on my application?
  The application deadline is August 2nd. You will receive more information about the next steps once the application deadline has passed. Since we carefully review each and every application, you can expect to receive an answer no earlier than mid September. 
• What kind of school certificate should I upload with my application?
  You would have to ask your school for an enrollement certificate, i.e. proof of which that you are enrolled into a school until december 1st 2026 or later. On what this is, this depends from school to school, and the proof is different in each country. It is okay to apply with a certificate in another language than english. If you cannot obtain a student certificate you may upload alternative documents such as an admission letter, student ID card, letter from university, or other official educational documents that confirm your student status.
• I don’t yet have my enrollment certificate for spring 2027, what do I do?
  ‍For those who have not received their enrollment certificate for Spring 2027, you can leave an older enrollment certificate or another type of documentation in the application. Note that all applicants that gets invited to ISFiT-27 need to provide us with the enrollment certificate for Spring 2027 when they get accepted in September 2026.
• What do I need to do myself if I am accepted as a participant? 
  ‍You will receive more information about the next steps once the invitations are sent out.If you are accepted as a participant, you will have to book and purchase our own airfare/travel tickets. This applies even if you have been granted travel funding from ISFiT. If you require a visa to enter Norway, you will also have to apply for this yourself.
