120 Days danced the night away
The Norwegian band 120 Days delivered a great show at Blæst last night. Since the Nils Petter Molvær concert at Samfundet was free of charge, the ISFiT participants and volunteers were nowhere to be found at Blæst. But if there were any, they weren’t many.
Intimate with Cibelle
Cibelle made ”Klubben” at Samfundet into a Brazilian place. Her special voice and the flirting with the public, created an intimate concert the first night of the festival.
Is this music?
Eiko form Switzerland provoked and made her public curious. With only herself and a laptop on stage, she sampled her own voice, and made music of it with rhythmic beats in the background. Or can you call this music?
Jason Molina and wet eyes
Jason Molina evoked tears in his public’s eyes at ”Klubben” Saturday night. His beautiful, but sad accords and his wistful voice, kept a close bound between him and his audience. It was a very personal concert, and “Klubben” was filled up with people.
KaRL BaRX at Samfundet
KaRL BaRX from Trondheim made a happy-happy feeling at ”Knaus” Saturday night with their energy-filled music. They made people in good mood, that’s for sure with their catchy and fast rhythms. The music goes from the quiet and slow, with sudden changes to the completely opposite. A funny concert which simply makes you feel good.
Nils Petter Molvær at Samfundet
Friday night Nils Petter Molvær with his ensemble managed to enchant the public in the Grand Hall (Storsalen) with their soulful music and the mystic atmosphere.
Lukas Kasha delivered an explosive performance with vast variation in sound and genre at Blæst on Tuesday night.
Susanna and Magical Orchestra
As the church bells stopped ringing there was complete silence in the Nidarosdomen Cathedral. Everyone was waiting for the melancholic experience from Susanna and the Magical Orchestra. And they weren’t disappointed.

The renowned ska band Ska Cubano really got the spectators swinging at Dokkhuset Friday night.
The more the merrier
«I’m from Barcelona» swept the audience away with the happiest concert ever performed at Blæst.

People standing on the outside looking inside to the Song to the Siren concert this Saturday might have wondered why the audience stood so far from stage. If you were in the audience you know why. And that was a good choice!

Sunday the 18th of February, the first Grand hall meeting at ISFiT 2007 took place at the Student Society. With prominent guests such as children rights activist Kimmie Weeks and Raj Shekar Chandola everything was set for an interesting and inspirational first meeting.

Minorities
With an introduction in both the Sàmi and Roma ethnic groups, the ISFiT-participants were presented the issues of the globalized minorities of the world. Likeness and differences among the two cultures were discussed and also what must be done for these peoples to get an equal opportunity in the future.
Aid or Trade?
On Monday, three workshops and other interested found their way to Nova Cinema for the thematic meeting “the end of poverty – aid or trade?” The meeting was one of the seven thematic meetings during ISFiT.
Global Warming - are we doomed?
We are not doomed, said two of three speakers on yesterday’s debate “Global warming- are we doomed?” These were the Norwegian mechanical engineer, Anders Valland and the Swedish professor Wibjørn Karlén. Nina Dessau, the French author, couldn’t disagree more.
The audience’s views were put to the test on Tuesday, as Thomas Wold and Abdel Bari Atwan challenged some common held views about the media in today’s globalized world.
Many challenges in Burma
- Don’t aid Burma through large international organizations, said Ying Tzarm on todays meeting about Burma at Dragvoll.
- It's your responsibility
- Human Rights are not only a right, but also a responsibility, said Paulos Tesfagiorgis on today’s Human Rights meeting.

The floor was full with salsa-dancing people Monday night, at the party-highlight of the week, Global Fiesta.

Torches lit up the centre of Trondheim on Tuesday as participants and functionaries from ISFiT walked the “Silent Walk” from Samfundet to Nidarosdomen cathedral.
"This is a dream come true"
For the first time in history, the World Parliament Experiment was tested in a large scale. The event took place in the Grand Hall. For Rasmus Tenbergen, founder of the WPE, it was a day he will never forget.
ISFiT participants given chance to shine
Given a chance to see if they have what it takes to become future world leaders, the ISFiT participants did not hesitate to prove their worth in the debate during the World Parliament Experiment.
A worthy ceremony for a worthy laureate
Olavshallen provided a great setting for the Peace Prize Ceremony 2007, where artistic performances and wise words made the night into an unforgettable one.

More than this
«More than this» is an art exhibition part of ProMidNord, a project for the development of the Mid-Nordic region. - «The exhibition is alive and engaging in collaboration with ISFiT», said curator Rickard Borgström.
The exhibition presents poetry of Torgeir Schjerven, an Norwegian poet and author. As a refreshing difference, the poetry visualized through a gallery gives you the beauty of poetry in a new context. Schjerven has received Nordisk Råds Literature Prize for his work.
